Phool Mala

Slide the flowers along the strings until each string holds one kind.

How to play

Fifteen flowers of five kinds, chosen each day from marigold, rose, jasmine, champa, lotus and butterfly pea, are threaded on five strings, with two empty strings to help. Tap a string to lift its top flowers, then tap where they should go: an empty string, or one with the same flower on top. Each flower has its own shape as well as its colour, and the goal is three of one kind on every string.

About this game

Flower garlands are part of many Indian celebrations, and this third-trimester game is a gentle way to spend a few minutes with them. It's a calm puzzle, shared for joy, not a health practice. When every string is done, you could say the flowers' names aloud for your baby, in whichever language feels like home.
