Hello, little one. It's Mumma. I have a story for you.

Long ago, in a kingdom of green hills, there lived a little prince named Dhruva. He was only five years old, with bright eyes and a brave heart.

One day, Dhruva saw his little brother sitting happily on their father's lap. Dhruva ran up and lifted his arms. He wanted a turn too.

But the younger queen shook her head. "That place is not for you," she said.

With tears in his eyes, Dhruva ran to his mother, Queen Suniti.

Suniti held him close. She did not say one unkind word about anyone. "My darling," she said softly, "don't keep anger in your heart. If you want a place that no one can ever take away, ask Lord Vishnu for it, with a patient, steady heart."

Dhruva wiped his tears and set off for the forest.

On the way, he met the smiling sage Narada. "That is a big journey for such a small boy," said Narada. "Are you sure?"

"I am sure," said Dhruva.

So Narada taught him a simple prayer: Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya. "Say it slowly," he said. "Be still. And be patient."

Dhruva found a quiet spot by a river and sat very still, saying the prayer again and again.

The days grew warm, and he waited. The rains came, and he waited. Butterflies rested on his shoulders. Deer drank beside him. The winds turned cool, and still he sat, calm and steady.

Little by little, the hurt in his heart melted away. Only love was left.

Then, one bright morning, Lord Vishnu stood before him, shining like the sky after rain. He touched Dhruva's cheek softly with his conch, and Dhruva's joy poured out in a song of thanks.

"Your patience has made you steady," said Vishnu. "I give you a place that no one can ever take away. One day you will shine in the sky as the steadiest star of all. The other stars will circle around you, and travellers will look up to find their way."

Dhruva went home, and his father ran to meet him with open arms.

And even today, on a clear night, if you look towards the north, you can find him: Dhruv Tara, the Pole Star, shining quietly in the same place, night after night.

The moral
“A patient, steady heart finds its own place to shine.”

Say this aloud, slowly, or in your own words.
